Science Doc Day at the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival

The programme of the 2021 Trieste Science+Fiction Festival hosted once again the Science Doc Day – a one-day programme of webinars, meetings and networking events dedicated to science documentary, took place on November the 2nd. The event scheduled a presentation of documentary studio Sandbox Films and of its Sundance-backed Sandbox Fund, a panel on the synergies between science community and the documentary film industry, and a focus on WaterBear Network – the first interactive VOD platform dedicated to supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals; plus a session of virtual one-to-one meetings with professionals of the field. Among the attendees: Cecilie Olsen (ITV), Jessica Harrop (Sandbox Films), Andrea Walji (WaterBear Network), Pauline Mazenod (Windrose), Katharina Finger (ZDF), Irem Couchouron (Silbersalz Science & Media Festival), Neal Hartman (CineGlobe Film Festival), Massimo Arvat (Zenit Arti Audiovisive).
The Science Doc Day is part of the Fantastic Film Forum, the section of the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival dedicated to audiovisual professionals, expanding this year its calendar of events to eight full days. The FFF 2021 took place online from October the 27th to November the 3rd. Its schedule included training workshops, a three-days session of one-to-one online meetings, panels and conferences, and a special Co-Production Day, featuring an extensive presentation of the opportunities for producers of the new MEDIA Programme and a workshop by Pauline Mazenod and Michel Pradier.
